- Daily operations – Daily operations – Bath to Bows LLC is different. Each day is sectioned off into two separate shifts. Drop-off times are staggered to allow busy families time to bring their dog. Pickup times are static to ensure that each dog is cared for in a timely manner. Morning drop-offs are from 8:30 to 8:45 AM, with a pickup of 12:30. Afternoon drop-offs are from 1 – 1:15, with a pickup of 5:30. The time between 12:30 and 1 PM is used for sanitizing all tools and kennels between shifts, enforcing a cleaner and healthier environment. Days of operation are from Tuesday through Saturday.
- Before your appointment – A description of your dog is necessary before your first appointment. This will allow for proper service time. Please include all of the following: breed (if known), coat description, age, grooming history, allergies and other skin conditions, temperament and behavioral conditions, medical conditions, kennel conditions, etc. Bath to Bows LLC is not responsible for information NOT provided. ALL dogs must be under 100 lbs. and current on rabies vaccines. A certificate from a licensed veterinarian is required upon check-in. Vaccines may range from one to three years. Titer tests are also accepted. Seriously aggressive dogs/tranquilized dogs will NOT be groomed.
- Bringing your dog – ALL dogs entering the salon MUST be kept on a leash or in a carrier. This will prevent fighting and from dogs being loose. ANY dog NOT brought in on a leash will be given a slip lead, and will be charged a $2 leash rental fee. Bath to Bows LLC is NOT responsible for dogs being injured while loose on premises! This includes the road and the intersection of 46 and 165, which is a known dangerous intersection! All dogs MUST be walked in the green area on the side of the building BEFORE entering the salon. Allowing dogs to relieve themselves after the car ride makes for a more pleasant grooming experience and a sanitary environment. Currently, there is no charge for accidents inside the salon, unless your dog soils their coat after the bath and must be returned to the tub. Price will range upon the severity. Collars AND leashes remain at the salon.
- Information gathered by Bath to Bows LLC – ALL information gathered is for contact purposes and grooming history ONLY, and will NOT be given to ANY third party without permission. ALL contact information MUST be up-to-date. ALL phone numbers must be active. ALL addresses must be able to receive voicemail and text. Please give notification immediately if ANY information changes, such as phone number, residence, veterinarian, etc.
- Dog evaluation – All dogs will be evaluated before being brought behind the counter. It is at this time that grooming and/or styling services will be discussed. Special conditions, including but not limited to matted dogs, senior dogs, and short contour trims on furry dogs will be discussed, with a wavier signed for each.
- Dog holding – All dogs will be housed comfortably in high-impact laminate kennels. One dog to each kennel ensures a healthier environment. There is little, if any, contact between dogs. Small dogs from the same household may be kenneled together with owner’s permission only. Kennels are semi-separated from the grooming area to promote a calmer environment. Each kennel is furnished with a small water dish. Grain-free treats may be provided. If your dog has allergies or digestive issues, treats will not be offered. Home treats may be substituted. Dogs will NOT be kenneled overnight. At the end of each dropoff time, the door will be locked for added security. If you need to come back for any reason, please call, or stand outside the door – do not knock! This can create a dangerous situation if a dog is in the tub or on the styling table.
- Service – All dogs receive their services on rotation. One dog will be prepped, bathed, and blow-dried before beginning the next dog. Grooming and styling will be done in the same fashion. This allows for each dog to receive some down-time to keep them relaxed. Exceptions are dogs who cannot be kenneled or senior dogs with medical conditions. Please give notice ahead of time. These dogs MUST be picked up immediately after all services have been rendered; owners will be called for pickup. Prep work consists of hair on paws trimmed, sanitary trim when required, nails trimmed and filed, ear hair plucked if necessary and requested. Two-step baths consists of anal glands expressed externally if requested, two or more shampoos and rinses for the coat with products designed for the specific needs of the skin and coat, and ears swabbed clean. Special conditions may include oily coat, dry coat, fleas, and skunk smell treatment. Two-step conditioning consists of conditioner and rinse designed for the specific needs of the skin and coat, followed by toweling off and a mist of conditioning spray. The drying process uses a combination of high-velocity drying, fluff-drying with brush-out, and may include ambient air drying. Techniques will be determined by the dog’s comfort level and coat type. No heated kennel dryers will be used. Some heat may be present from the motors of the dryers. Grooming and/or styling is based upon coat type and condition, health of the dog, and owner lifestyle. Some dogs may receive hairspray or hair gel to create a desired style. Each service is finished with cologne, which changes seasonally. Dogs with allergies, skin conditions, or allergic family members will not be given cologne. Dogs will receive a bow or bows at the end of the service. These may be attached to the collar or put into the dog’s coat. Bows placed into coats MUST be removed after several days to prevent matting. When reattaching, take care NOT to pinch the dog’s skin or wrap the rubber band around ear flaps or tail. Bath to Bows LLC is NOT responsible for injuries resulting from bows that are improperly reattached. Tooth brushing is not currently offered – teeth are internal enough, and Bath to Bows LLC provides external services only.
- Special service: color – Color can add an extra element of flair to your dog’s groom. Temporary, semi-permanent, or permanent products may be utilized. Each product has been approved for safe use in dogs by the Creative Groomer’s Association and IJA. Pricing will be determined by the amount of color added to the dog’s coat and complexity of the final design. Dogs with allergies or skin problems and severely shy dogs are not candidates for color. Results may vary based on your dog’s coat type and natural color.
- Salon emergencies – Every step of care will be taken to ensure that your dog receives proper, safe, and humane treatment while being cared for at Bath to Bows LLC. However, with sharp objects and moving targets, accidents may occur. In the event of minor injuries (nicks, scrapes, etc.), the area will be cleaned and the family notified. In the event of a serious emergency, Bath to Bows LLC will notify the dog’s family IMMEDIATELY and will seek out emergency vet care.
- Pickup times – Pickup times are static to allow for all dogs to receive service in a timely manner. Morning pickup is 12:30 PM, and afternoon pickup is 5:30. If you need your dog sooner for any reason, please give notice to provide for proper time. Otherwise, owners are NOT to pick their dogs up any earlier than the given pickup time. Dogs may not be finished, and when owners come early, dogs begin to jump, bark, and wiggle, creating a chaotic environment. This is especially dangerous for dogs on the table, as they are not aware of sharp objects around their bodies. ANY OWNER who comes ten minutes before pickup time will be charged an additional $5 as a gratuity to the dogs. External emergency situations are an exception. No charge will be given to those who wait in the parking lot. The person(s) who dropped off the dog are responsible for picking up the dog. If someone else needs to pick up the dog, please give notice.
- Pricing – Pricing of services is based upon size, coat, and temperament. Each breed has its own base price. This may increase due to oversize dogs, coat conditions, external parasites like fleas and ticks, aggressive behavior, etc. Coat condition and behavior are subject to change the most. A muzzle may be utilized in cases of snapping dogs, and will only remain on for short periods of time. Seriously aggressive dogs will NOT be groomed. Coat conditions subject to higher fees include matted dogs, heavily shedding dogs, severe infestations of fleas or ticks, and any of the previous conditions that are constant, or worsen.
- Payment – Cash and checks made out to Bath to Bows LLC are accepted, and are collected at pickup. No pre-written checks. No pre-payments until service is fully complete. Credit cards are not accepted.
- Late/missed payments – Payments for all services given to your dog are to be paid upon pickup. This includes any extra services including, but not limited to, mat removal, de-shedding, etc. No pre-written checks. If you are having difficulty paying for services, a payment plan will be set in place. You will be given a time frame for all services to be paid off in full. Any non-payment may bar you from booking future appointments; bill-skipping in any amount will result in dismissal from the salon.
- No-show/no calls – In order to keep operations running smoothly, it is important to keep your scheduled appointment. If, for any reason, you need to reschedule, please give at least 24 hours notice. No-show/no calls means revenue is lessened, and as a whole, the business is impacted negatively. Reminder calls/texts are available at no charge. After a few no-show/no calls, you will automatically receive reminder calls/texts the night before your dog’s appointment. Repeats after this will result in a security deposit fee to hold your dog’s appointment, which will need to be paid in cash prior to booking. This will be the equivalent of half your dog’s base grooming price (example: a $46 groom will require a deposit of $23). Security deposits are stored off-premises. After a no-show/no call here, the deposit is counted, and you will be required to put down another deposit before booking any future appointments; this may be done any time during regular business hours. Deposits are based upon each dog, and may not be paid together.
- Home coat care – At the end of each service, all owners will receive instruction on how to care for their dog’s coat between appointments. Techniques, tools, and frequency will be entirely dependent on the dog’s coat and skin needs. Dogs who return with severe coat conditions will expect higher fees for services. Heavily matted coat, severe shedding, and flea and tick infestations are preventable. Good grooming begins at home, and is an important part of basic dog care.
- Re-booking – Re-booking is highly recommended to ensure your next appointment fits you and your dog’s schedule. The number of weeks between appointments varies, depending upon the dog’s coat, style, and owner’s lifestyle needs. Owners may opt to call instead of re-booking, however, there is no guarantee that an appointment will be readily available. All appointments are scheduled on a first-come first-served basis. If a certain day or time is not available, Bath to Bows LLC will compensate as best as possible. Bath to Bows LLC does NOT book out for the entire year. If you or your dog becomes ill, please call immediately to reschedule. Sick dogs and humans will be set home. If you are sick, stay home! Please help keep the salon healthy! If you miss your appointment, please call immediately to be rescheduled.
- Special events – Bath to Bows LLC may be closed for special events including but not limited to holidays, vacations, groomer trade shows, etc. The schedule may become impacted. In these times of year, evening and/or Monday appointments may be made available. These special times are not available during regular business hours.
